GARDEN OF THE GODS. These iconic 300 foot towering sandstone natural formations are a popular location for all things photo. Beautiful snow capped Pikes Peak towers just behind these beautiful red giants. Nestled right next to Old Colorado City the location of Garden of Gods is perfect for all.

PROS. Perfect for any season of the year. Blues and burgundies look amazing in contrast to the red sandstone. Draw dropping views from every angle of the park. Free admission with things to do after your session. Handicap accessible. Pets allowed.

CONS. Terrain can be rough in some spots. Recommend bringing walking appropriate shoes at least until pictures. Parking can be scarce, I would suggest car pooling if possible and if not I’m always happy to assist with carpooling inside the park.

RED ROCK CANYON OPEN SPACE. Located just off highway 24 near Old Colorado City this hiking park offers breathtaking views of the Rockies with Pikes Peak at the center. Erect red sandstone rocks sit peacefully along the duck pond while a magical looking tree lays herself out in an open field making for beautiful backdrops.

PROS. Perfect for any season of the year. Trails go miles offering different backdrops and scenes. Offers that Colorado feel among the red sandstone walls. Dark and bright colors pop among these red rocks or stay subtle with earthy tones. Pets allowed.

CONS. Terrain can be rough in some spots. Recommend bringing walking appropriate shoes at least until pictures. Not ideal for someone who can’t walk long distances or need assistance via wheelchair. Parking is limited again it is a popular outdoor recreational area.

CHEYENNE CANYON & HELEN HUNT FALLS. Located just behind the Broadmoor this convenient little canyon offers creeks and streams with quaint rock bridges running over. Just a little higher of a drive up is the mountain top overlooking the beautiful peaks with large boulders and evergreen trees along the trail.

PROS. Greenery is offered all year round. Snow can be found late spring or even late fall down in the shaded canyon. Plenty of pull off locations with easy access to trails for pictures. Handicap accessible. Beautiful views of Helen Hunt falls. Pets allowed.

CONS. Can get icy down in the canyon. Beware of the weather and wear appropriate shoes. No cell phone service in the canyon. Drive to the top can be winding, be on the lookout for bicyclist.

This address will lead to a parking lot at the base of the canyon. This a perfect meeting location.

THE PAINT MINES. Named for the colorful clay walls the Paint Mines are one of Colorado’s unique open spaces. Located in the northeast outside Calhan this location offers open prairie views or hike down the trails for the spectacular clay formations. Shoes to hike down in are a must, just until pictures.

PROS. Creates jaw dropping scenes. Plenty of parking. Beautiful during all seasons. Fun family hiking after your session.

CONS. Not elderly or new to world friendly. Hiking mandatory. Thirty minute drive outside Colorado Springs. One mile of gravel road. No dogs allowed.

DOWNTOWN COLORADO SPRINGS. I absolutely love the fun quirky little parts of downtown. Mix up your session with the many options downtown has to offer from modern to historic and quaint parks with lights strung all along the streets. After your session catch dinner at one of the local Colorado breweries or fine dine in the top rated restaurants.

PROS. Centrally located with views of Pikes Peak. Ideal location for young adults with a spunky vibe. Handicap accessibility throughout the city. Mix it up with city and park look.

CONS. Heavily populated with tourist. Street meter parking.

FOX RUN PARK. Located just north of the Springs off highway 83 is this adorable little park. Fox Run Park has a lot of ever greens, graveled roads, and a pond with a fountain. Beautiful location for that rustic feel.

PROS. Perfect for any season. Covered by trees throughout. Large park with few people. Plenty of parking. Handicap accessible in areas. Dogs welcomed.

CONS. No cell service. Located north of the Springs.

PALMER PARK. Located in the heart of Colorado Springs this beautiful park has everything Colorado, the open prairies, the breathtaking mountain views, the big sandstone boulders and what a view of the city.

PROS. Centrally located in Colorado Springs. Plenty of pull off parking. Snow can be found late spring in some areas. Pets allowed.

CONS. Winding roads. Tourist area. Can get windy.

FOUNTAIN CREEK REGIONAL PARK TRAIL HEAD. Located in Fountain just south of the Springs this beautiful park is one of my favorite locations. This trail head has many photo opportunities and provides beautiful water backdrops and the trees canopy the whole park. Through the park are gravel trails, creek beds, brides, pounds, oh and a waterfall! This park neighbors a nature center so wildlife is hopeful to be seen.

PROS. Beautiful during summer and fall mostly. Outdoor lovers calling. Pets allowed, even horses! Handicap accessible in some spots. Water seen year round. Less populated.

CONS. Graveled road/ parking. Bring shoes to walk from location to location, flat gravel trails.
